Love You Queensland

A modern day love song, revisiting a 1992 classic

The Task

When P&O asked if we could help them with a music video, we didn’t have to think twice.

With the launch of a new cruise terminal in Brisbane, P&O wanted to really share their love for the people of Queensland and had recruited the help of Australian singing sensation, Ricki-Lee to voice their idea.

The Strategy

The idea was simple; tell Queenslanders how much P&O loved them!

So going back into the roots of Queensland pop-culture is the 1992 network promo ‘Love You Queensland’, made famous for Channel 7 by Brisbane local, Kim Durant.

The track was a hit and holds a special place in the hearts of most Queenslanders. So when we found out that P&O wanted to re-record the track with Ricki, we just had to bring it to life for the world to see it also!

The people, the places, the sights and the faces, there’s no place I’d rather be!

The Outcome

Queensland’s very own love song is a wonderfully fun tribute to all that makes the state so great; it’s people.

Filmed onboard the Pacific Dawn, the result is an entertaining and tongue in cheek homage to the 1992 classic.

The music film now plays at the disembarkation of every P&O ship as it sets sail from Queensland. A fitting reminder of just how much P&O loves it’s Queensland Cruislings!
