CASTING CALL

Families Wanted for BBC Studios Digital Brands’ Bluey digital content! 

Do you and your family LOVE Bluey? Are you ready to star in two exciting digital projects for BBC Studios Digital Brands? We’re searching for 10 families with children aged 3+ to take part in fun-filled video content celebrating Australia’s beloved show, Bluey!

What's in store?

We’re looking for families who love to cook and make food together. The focus is on having fun, working together as a family, making mistakes, and laughing all the way to the dinner table.

Who we’re looking for

We’re interested in seeing families of all kinds – including single parents, grandparents, blended families, same-sex parents, culturally diverse families and those with lived experience of disability.

 

Filming will be in Greater Sydney, the Blue Mountains and Brisbane, and will take place at your homes. If successfully cast, families will be paid a fee of $1,000 to appear in the shows.

Family requirements

  1. Families should consist of at least two adults and two children (you can involve relatives like grandparents, aunts, uncles, or even close friends).

  2. At least one of the participating children should be 7 years or older, but all featured children must be 3+ years old.

  3. You should be a family that’s comfortable in front of a camera, willing to joke around, and eager to have fun!

  4. We require an additional adult (family member or friend) who will act as chaperone to the children on set.

Self tapes

To be considered, families must submit a self-tape audition! Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Introduce each family member, telling us their name and role in the family (e.g., mum, dad, sibling, grandparent, etc.). 

  2. Then, have the children answer the following fun questions while adults feel free to chime in:

    1. Which Bluey recipe would you cook and why?

    2. What unique ingredients would you use for a ‘Fancy Restaurant meal’ you create for the adults?

    3. What fun questions would you ask your adults to get to know them better? Think of some funny questions and meaningful questions too.

If selected, your self-tape might be used in the show—so don’t forget to bring lots of energy and personality!

Self-Tape audition tips

  • Film horizontally to ensure we capture the full picture! (not portrait)

  • Make sure you’re close enough to the camera so we can see and hear you clearly.

  • Ensure the room is well-lit.

  • Most importantly, have fun!
